The Mage-OS website is provided by the Mage-OS Association, a non-profit organization registered in Poland. The website provides information about the Mage-OS project, distribution, community, and related services.

What You Can Do

Under these licenses, you are free to:

  • Use the software for any purpose, including commercial use
  • Modify the source code to suit your needs
  • Distribute copies of the original or modified software
  • Create derivative works based on the software

What You Must Do

When using or distributing the software, you must:

  • Include license notices in any distribution
  • Disclose source code of modifications to OSL 3.0 licensed code if distributed
  • Provide attribution to original authors as required by the licenses

Contributions

We welcome contributions from the community. By contributing to Mage-OS, you help improve the platform for everyone.

Code Contributions

By submitting code contributions (pull requests, patches, or other code) to Mage-OS repositories, you:

  • Confirm ownership: You have the right to submit the contribution (you own it or have permission)
  • Grant license: You grant the Mage-OS Association and the community a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute your contribution under the applicable open source license (OSL 3.0 or AFL 3.0)
  • Accept redistribution: Your contribution becomes part of the open source project and may be redistributed by others under the same license
  • Waive moral rights: To the extent permitted by law, you waive any moral rights that might restrict the use of your contribution

Documentation and Content Contributions

Documentation contributions are provided under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), unless otherwise specified.

Community Content

Content you post in community spaces (forums, Discord, comments, social media) remains your property, but you grant Mage-OS:

  • A non-exclusive license to display, archive, and moderate such content
  • The right to use your content for community operations and promotional purposes
  • Permission to remove content that violates our policies

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to post any content you share.

Trademarks and Branding

Mage-OS Trademarks

The Mage-OS name, logo, and branding are property of the Mage-OS Association. You may not use these trademarks in a manner that suggests endorsement by or affiliation with Mage-OS without prior written permission.

Permitted uses include:

  • Referring to the Mage-OS project in articles, blog posts, or discussions
  • Indicating compatibility with or support for Mage-OS in a truthful manner

Prohibited uses include:

  • Using “Mage-OS” in your product or company name without permission
  • Modifying the Mage-OS logo or using it in a misleading context
  • Suggesting official endorsement without authorization

Community Spaces

Our community operates across several platforms:

  • Discord - Real-time chat and community discussions
  • Events - In-person and virtual meetups, conferences, and hackathons

Enforcement

Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in:

  • Warning from community moderators
  • Temporary suspension from community spaces
  • Permanent removal from community spaces
  • Reporting to appropriate authorities if illegal activity is involved

Enforcement decisions are made at the discretion of community moderators and the Mage-OS Association Board.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The Mage-OS Association shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly
  • The Mage-OS Association shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the website, software, or community services
  • Our total liability for any claims shall not exceed the amount you have paid to the Association, if any

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Mage-OS Association, its board members, volunteers, and contributors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the website or software, or your violation of these terms.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any material changes by:

  • Updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page
  • Posting a notice on our website for significant changes

Your continued use of the website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Poland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Poland.

The Mage-OS Association is committed to making our website and software accessible to all users. We strive to follow Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.
